On behalf of the Maple Park & Countryside Fire Protection District, I would like to welcome you to our web site. We hope that within the site you can find answers to any questions you may have about the department and be able to sign up for any classes we may be offering such as CPR.
Our district covers a rural area of 42 square miles which also includes the Village of Maple Park and a part of the Village of Virgil. We serve an estimated 4,500 citizens within the district to which we offer ALS and BLS ambulance service along with full fire & rescue service. We meet this challenge with 1fire station located in Maple Park and employ 1 full time fire chief and 37 paid on call/volunteers that are a mixture of paramedics, emergency medical technicians and firefighters.

ORDINANCE NO. 2016 - 03

FINAL ANNUAL BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR 2016/2017 OF THE MAPLE PARK & COUNTRYSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, DEKALB AND KANE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING APRIL 30, 2017

 

            We hereby submit a Final Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for the Maple Park & Countryside Fire Protection District, Kane and DeKalb Counties, State of Illinois, and the SecretaryTreasurer of this District has made the Tentative Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance conveniently available for public inspection for at least thirty (30) days prior to final action thereon.

            WHEREAS, a public hearing was held as to such Tentative Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance on the 18th day of July, 2016, which hearing took place at 5:00 p.m. at the Fire Station in Maple Park, DeKalb County, Illinois.

            NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE MAPLE PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, KANE AND DEKALB COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, IN LAWFUL SESSION, THAT:

            Section.l. The fiscal year of the District shall be, and the same is hereby fixed and declared to be from May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2017.

            Section 2: The following Budget, which contains an estimate of all receipts and all expenditures of said Fire Protection District, including the cost of ambulance service provided and to be provided, shall be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the budget of this Fire Protection District for the said fiscal year.

FIRE DIVISION

PART I – ESTIMATED RECEIPTS (2016/17)                             BUDGET

         1.      Cash on hand beginning of operation May 1, 2016            $ 20,000.00

2.      Taxes estimated to be received this fiscal year from
levies previously filed (fire protection only)
2015/16 budget:                                                $269,395.00

         3.      Estimated income from fire insurance refunds,
interest on savings and other sources:                                $  10,000.00

         Total estimated receipts and cash on hand                                   $299,395.00

         Less: estimated expenditures based on 2016/17 budget:             $299,395.00

            Section 3: The foregoing sum of money, or so much thereof as may be authorized by law, is hereby appropriated for fire protection and ambulance service purposes of the Maple Park & Countryside Fire Protection District for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2017.

            Section 4: All unexpended balances of any item or items of any general appropriation made by this Ordinance may be expended in making up any deficiency in any item or items in the same general appropriation made by this Ordinance.

            Section 5: This Final Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance shall be published in the ELBURN HERALD, a newspaper of general circulation published in this Fire Protection District, and shall be in full force and effect at the expiration of ten (10) days from and after its publication.

            ADOPTED this 18th day of July, 2016, pursuant to a roll call vote by the Board of Trustees of the Maple Park & Countryside Fire Protection District, Kane and DeKalb Counties, Illinois.
